The text and paintings on The Trowbridge Chronicles are taken from the illustrated journal of Violet Trowbridge, a shrew that once lived in a village deep in the Olympic Rain Forest. Each new post will represent a portion of Mrs. Trowbridge’s journal.

THE ALDER TWIG CHAIR

Mrs. Trowbridge is a hopeless romantic. In this week's page Woodrow has made an alder twig chair just for the two love birds...or love shrews, if you prefer. It makes a wonderful addition to their rain forest flower garden, don't you think?

FYI, she also mentioned on another page that she drew much of the picture on this page and scribed the text at night in her cottage with a flickering lantern for her light source while a wind storm raged outside. To think she created all that detail by lantern light.

I love your illustrations and how you tell the story line from Mrs Trowbridge. Printing on the parchment look paper just adds to the ambience of your illustrations.
I'll be back to see more of this story.

You're quite the weaver in word and color - your illustrated narrative is delightful in every way! It brings quite a touch of class to this enterprise, and it's gentility is refreshing! Thanks...

Love shrews.... how dear! The painting is wonderful, full of love and fantasy. My compliments to Violet for keeping such a detailed journal. Lantern light is the perfect source of light for such romance.

Mrs. T is so lucky... she is creative & a hopeless romantic. Just the best way to be... and it is clear that Mr. T know that he is a lucky guy too!

Hopelessly (too) devoted little kiss,
The Tart
