The text and paintings on The Trowbridge Chronicles are taken from the illustrated journal of Violet Trowbridge, a shrew that once lived in a village deep in the Olympic Rain Forest. Each new post will represent a portion of Mrs. Trowbridge’s journal.

SMOKE SIGNALS

A clear winter sky was a welcome sight for the small creatures of the rain forest, who spent their winters beneath the snow. On her journal page Mrs. Trowbridge explains the peculiar plumes of smoke emanating from holes in the snow.

It's always a pleasure to read a fragment of Mrs. Trowbridge's journal :) Lovely illustration, too.

Magical as always. I loved the story and Mrs. Trobridge's lovely painting. I also really liked the way you placed a view of the cookstove into Violet's journal. I'll be looking for those tell tale signs of villages beneath the snow all winter long.

This is really beautiful and very believable. It makes me wistful for a real place like that. The font is very nice too!

I'll vouch for Bron on this one and say that Trowbridge's writing is not a font; every letter is handwritten.
