SUMMER SONG

We live in condo complexes...ladybugs live in mushroom colonies on nurse logs. This is where the ladybugs in Huckleberry Hollow prefer to live. Mrs. Trowbridge captured them with her skillful brush and scribing pen as they sang a forest chorus in five part harmony.

  2. Oh how dear! I missed the Simple mushroom complex last week and now I have two delightful images to enjoy. Thank you Mrs. Trowbridge for keeping us up to date on all that you see and "hear" as well. I wonder what it sounds like when ladybugs sing?

  10. Lovely illustration. The next time I pass a mushroom, I'll wonder if there isn't perhaps a wee ladybug singing lazily there...

  13. As always, you use so great earthy colors. Wonderful illustration. Little doors on little mushroom condos...
And a single spot on each ladybug. Ladybugs must make a very small noise; I've never heard any sound from the ones around our neck of the woods.

  15. Thank you all for your comments, but I was waiting for someone to notice the satellite dish on top of one of the mushrooms, but no one did. Definitely out of context for a 19th Century rain forest.
