A million tales have been told among the shrews of the Mongolian Steppes, of life and death in the scorching desert, of battles won and battles lost, of heroes and heroines. The tales of Shrew Khan, his brother Emperor Nang, and Khan's faithful compatriot, Keno, are among the most retold of all the Trowbridge shrew stories. We are nearing the conclusion of one of Mrs. Trowbridge's many Shrew Khan stories.
Keno, who we have come to know and love, has been the hero of this story. His adventure at the Imperial City of Shomu tested his mettle and made him grow stronger as a shrew and a warrior.
Keno and Emperor Nang have "dropped in" at the desert fortress at Giloh, only to find that Shrew Khan and his comrades are nowhere to be found. Did we come this far in the story just to find that Khan is missing in action? I hope not. Let's find out...
Thanks for your encouraging comments on my blog this week! I am glad we get to see the conclusion of Keno, but I will miss him too! My brother is visiting from the bay area (CA) to make sure I am settled well in my new Oregon home (he calls us Oragamis, silly boy!) We took him for the most amazing hike out on the Rogue River today in the rain. Everything was so alive! The moss to touch, the raging rapids to hear, the wet earth to smell... just a little piece of heaven. It will be nice to see how Mrs. T spends her time in the rainy season! Yeah, I am excited to see the new adventures of Mrs. T and Woodrow!

You live in one of the most beautiful spots in the country. I'm sure you know that. One my fun maps web site you'll see two maps of the Oregon Coast. I spent time in Brookings while marketing the Oregon Coast maps. Another one of my favorite Oregon Coast towns is Depoe Bay.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed looking at your work. I can see that you really enjoy what you
do. It shows in your work.
Just stopped by to say I was sorry to hear about your father.
ReplyDeleteYour story looks wonderful, I've missed so much this year because of the floods, it's a real treat to catch up and see what I've been missing.
Not all shrews are great warriors! He should be proud!

presents:
"PIECES - Book '01"
The main purpose of the project is to create unpredictable graphic and comic-book story.
Comics strips have been present in mass culture for many years. They are ruled by their own defined laws and principles.
"PIECES" in the final realization phase will take the form and expression of comics.
But it will be created in an innovative and very interesting way.
The project has been started with one comic-strip frame ("piece") presenting a group of characters in definite surroundings. The created situation is only an excuse for the continuation of the story. The picture prepared in this form is sent to another artist that takes part in the project. Taking into consideration the graphic and situational meaning, he accomplishes his own artistic interpretation. During the work on the next 'piece', he is creating the continuation of the story.
Every artist has a chance to speed up or slow down the tempo of action, to introduce new characters, etc.. With the progress of work on the comics its character could change - from a humorous through melancholic to a scary tale. It depends only on the imagination of participants of "PIECES" project.
The artist who will receive the parts of the story as the last one, will finish it. The effect of work of many artistic personalities will be a diverse in visual way and unpredictable graphic comic-book story. The story, that we would control only during the work on one piece.
The story that lives its own life.
Jakub Mazerant (initiator of "PiecesBooks") will be watching over the cohesion of the whole project.
