A clear winter sky was a welcome sight for the small creatures of the rain forest, who spent their winters beneath the snow. On her journal page Mrs. Trowbridge explains the peculiar plumes of smoke emanating from holes in the snow.
I lost this page for awhile... so very happy to find it again! I linked it this time so I wouldn't lose it again. I love your little creatures and your writing.
Magical as always. I loved the story and Mrs. Trobridge's lovely painting. I also really liked the way you placed a view of the cookstove into Violet's journal. I'll be looking for those tell tale signs of villages beneath the snow all winter long.
Actually I too applaude your mastery...your work have a surreal quality that makes me dream...and this illo makes no exception (the pele yellow window with thw stove is simply great!)

ReplyDeleteI'll vouch for Bron on this one and say that Trowbridge's writing is not a font; every letter is handwritten.
