The text and paintings on The Trowbridge Chronicles are taken from the illustrated journal of Violet Trowbridge, a shrew that once lived in a village deep in the Olympic Rain Forest. Each new post will represent a portion of Mrs. Trowbridge’s journal.

Really like your artwork, those earthy tones This is a really cute illo, and sweet story
Oh how dear! I missed the Simple mushroom complex last week and now I have two delightful images to enjoy. Thank you Mrs. Trowbridge for keeping us up to date on all that you see and "hear" as well. I wonder what it sounds like when ladybugs sing?
I love your style! Very cute and perfectly suited to children's books.
My daughter in law will just love this for she absolutely loves mushrooms.
wonderful!!
of course i love this sooo much!!! also i have always loved that song...
Absolutely love this- both the idea and the execution..beautiful..
I love your blog and I love your work. :)
Definitely will be back to look through your website too. The map was great! Otherwise I might get lost. ;)
This song really absolutely fits the light (and delightful) mood of the drawing. You know I am a fan of the Huckleberry Hollow world :)
This is such fun!
Lovely illustration. The next time I pass a mushroom, I'll wonder if there isn't perhaps a wee ladybug singing lazily there...
This really makes me smile. :) The ladybugs are so precious and sweet, and your colors create such a warm atmosphere.
Ahh...my heart, stolen again! When is your book coming out so I can buy it!!! If you don't have one you should. Precious in every way!
As always, you use so great earthy colors. Wonderful illustration. Little doors on little mushroom condos...
And a single spot on each ladybug. Ladybugs must make a very small noise; I've never heard any sound from the ones around our neck of the woods.
Goodness I love this blog....wonderful illustrations with a great story an awesome idea! I'm so impressed. I'm also waiting to see the book so I can get a copy.....GRIN - every illustration is lovely!
Thank you all for your comments, but I was waiting for someone to notice the satellite dish on top of one of the mushrooms, but no one did. Definitely out of context for a 19th Century rain forest.
Oh how wonderful, visiting the land of your imagination. I love it, if you don't get anyone to publish you, publish yourself and offer it for sale. You have quite the following already!
So sweet... I lOVE all of these little ladies!
Sweetest kisses to all,
The Tart
Ps So glad I found U!
