THE EARLY DAYS OF MRS. TROWBRIDGE
This week Mrs. Trowbridge takes us back to her earliest memories of life in the rain forest. I selected two pages from her journal. The first one focuses on her memories of childhood fears and phobias and how she overcame them. On the second page, she shares her memories of her younger days on the family sowbug farm.

Is Mrs. T's dad riding a night train? My first run in with nighttrains were at the Oregon Caves on our 3rd wedding anniversary. When they roll up in your hand they smell like cherry Luden cough drops.

Oh Violet I am so glad you crossed over that bridge! And now I know where the expression comes from: "I'm so hungry I could eat a bug!"
Your journal memories are clearly vivid in your mind, as you are able to so easily remember and record them. You do so with great care, beauty and thoughtfulness.

So that is what they are called sow bugs! I love them. They are one of the few bugs I do love to touch!Each entry is a wonderful adventure and so appreciated!

Nice to hear from you Bron and Mrs T. I love this story (or you may call a biography) and you illo with it. I must learn from you to just draw no matter how busy and "disturbed" emotionally at times. Thanks for the reminder.

There is so much thought and exquisite imagery in all these posts and this one is no exception. The Trowbridge Chronicles is a treasure and delight to visit. I think the sowbug farm is way high up on my favourite list!
Your colors are glowing warm almost like there's a light behind it, Ginger. It makes the illlustration so inviting. I especially like the girl and the chickens. I have Painter but haven't learned to use it yet. It's all I can do to manage Photoshop.
hi, tHanks for your comment (quiet)...actually I'm always stunned by your mastery as well...I completely work in Adobe Illustrator...properly it's not the program to make use of, guess painter is the best, at least real professionals say so!
